Dead Donut Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 2026
Applies to: Dead Donut for iPhone (App Store) and TestFlight builds.
The short version
Dead Donut has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking, and it sells nothing. What you save in the app (tour plans, your show journal, downloaded tracks, and settings) stays on your device. To find shows and play music, the app asks public music services for information.
What we collect and why
No account
There is no sign-up. Dead Donut never asks for your name, email address, or phone number.
Location (optional)
If you allow it, Dead Donut uses your location while the app is open to sort shows by distance. When the app looks up touring shows, your location is sent to Ticketmaster with the search so it can return events near you. Your location is not sent to us. If you do not allow location, the app uses a default area instead.
Questions you ask the Curator
If you have not added your own Claude API key, the text of your question is sent to our Curator server (curator.grahamalembic.ai), which uses Anthropic's Claude to answer it. Requests reach our server through Cloudflare. The question text is kept in our server's log.
Your own Claude API key (optional)
If you add your own Claude API key in Settings → AI & Keys, the key is stored in your device's Keychain, and your Curator questions and song requests go straight from your device to Anthropic under your account, not through our server. Tap Remove Key to delete it.
Notifications (optional)
On This Day, bustout alerts, and show reminders are scheduled on your device. Dead Donut does not use a push service.
What stays on your device
Tour plans, your show journal, cached show details, downloaded tracks, and your settings are stored only on your device.
What we do NOT collect
- No analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporters.
- No advertising identifiers (no IDFA, no ATT prompt).
- No accounts and no in-app purchases.
- No contacts, photos, or microphone.
Third-party services
To show you shows, setlists, news, and recordings, the app requests them from these services. Each one receives your device's network (IP) address, as any website does, and the request itself.

|---|---|---|
| Ticketmaster | Loading touring shows | Search terms, and your location if you allowed it |
| Anthropic (privacy) | Curator answers and song requests | Your question; through our server, or directly with your own key |

| Internet Archive (terms) | Recordings and video you play | The item you play |
| YouTube (privacy) | Videos you play | The video you play, in YouTube's embedded player |
| Phish.net | Setlists and song history | The show dates and songs you look up |

| Apple Maps (privacy) | Maps of venues and tour routes | The map area you view |
No other third-party services receive your data.
